Weight: For adults and older teenagers, we recommend you carry 10lbs if you are under 150lbs and 20 lbs if you are over 150lbs. For early teenagers and younger, think about 5-10% of body weight as a general guide, but there are no hard and fast rules. If your family/group wants to make it interesting, bring a coupon to carry. However, your coupon should stay with your family or group, not be traded with other participants.

About: The Santa Ruck, a GORUCK Light Challenge, is an annual fitness event held nationally in December. Started in 2013, the Santa Ruck has become a staple for the charities that we have supported. Donations of money, goods, supplies and toys have made their way to hundreds of grateful families.

Since 2013, over 3,000 eager Americans have completed the 4+ hours of military-style outdoor PT exercises while carrying backpacks full of bricks and steel plates. Participants quickly learn that teams can achieve more than any individual. This is called “Building Better Americans”.

Each year, participants choose the beneficiary of their donation. For Charlotte, our charity is the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
